Job summary

Valterra Platinum Limited in Thabazimbi, South Africa, invites applications for a People & Organisation Advisor Operations (Band 6) to join the Operations Management Team. The role focuses on ensuring the effectiveness of the P&O function within the operations.

Key duties include advising on policies, supporting disciplinary and grievances, implementing Talent Management, providing recruitment support, and overseeing onboarding/offboarding to secure continuous operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma in HR management or industrial psychology.
• Post graduate degree in HR management or industrial psychology desirable.
• Experience in mining or related environment advantageous.
• Computer literacy including SAP HR.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and support to employees and line managers on a broad range of people & organisation matters.
• Support line managers in disciplinary and grievances processes.
• Ensure effective implementation of Talent Management, performance management and Employee Benefits.
• Provide talent sourcing support to recruit top talent for the operation.
• Support implementation of approved operational blueprints and guard against unplanned labour resources.
• Engage and support line managers to reduce labour unavailability; identify root causes and report findings.
• Support planning and implementation of Team + Process initiatives.
• Implement onboarding and off-boarding processes.

Job Description

Come join us as thePeople & Organisation Advisor Operationsand form an integral part of the Operational Management Team, with the responsibility of ensuring the effectiveness of the People and Organization function within the operations.

Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Provide advice and support to employees and line managers on a broad range of people & organisation related matters including the interpretation of policies, procedures and terms and conditions of employment
• Supports line managers and employees by providing credible Employee Relations advice and support including participating in disciplinary and grievances processes
• Ensures effective implementation of Talent Management, performance management and Employee Benefits processes in support of the organisation’s EVP initiatives
• Provides talent sourcing support to ensure recruitment of suitable and top talent for the operation
• Supports the implementation of the approved operational blueprints and guard against unplanned labour resources
• Engages and supports line managers in reducing labour unavailability by continuously tracking and monitoring including identifying root cause analysis and providing reports.
• Supports the planning and implementation of Team + Process
• Implement operational effective Onboarding and off-boarding

This role is at a Band 6 level reporting to the Section Manager P&O Operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree/Advanced Diploma in Human Resources management or Industrial Psychology
• Post Graduate Degree Human Resources management or Industrial Psychology (Desirable)

Experience

• Experience in mining or related environment advantageous
• Computer literate for role including SAP HR
