Job summary

Valterra Platinum is seeking a Mine Overseer Non Production to drive the Business Improvement Strategy at the Mototolo Der Brochen operations. You will facilitate initiative planning, develop business cases and track benefits across Engagement Centre and HR processes.

Responsibilities include governance, risk management, budgeting input, and change management for initiatives, with emphasis on labour availability and performance improvements in a mining setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Degree in HR related field (NQF Level 6).
• Valid driver’s license.

Job Description

The Mine Overseer Non Production is responsible for the implementation of the Business Improvement Strategy at the operations by facilitating future initiative planning and business case development and the detailed analyses required to support these. The role is accountable for initiative governance conformance, project sign-off and benefit tracking of all Engagement Centre’s and HR processes, support the management of labor unavailable initiatives e.g. long term sick leave, and initiate relevant Business Improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities of this role are:

• Managing the long-term Sick leave’s for Anglo American Platinum
• Analysis of labor unavailability drivers and design remedial interventions
• Provide Business Improvement input to budget savings
• Ensure conformance to governance and project sign-off by identifying project risks and effective management and tracking of projects and value delivery
• Ensure regular feedback is given to all users on the Operation and the Management team on the operations
• Develop and implement communication and change strategy per initiative through facilitating AO communication at the operation and ensuring buy in and commitment on initiatives
• Mine engagement and project communication as well as best practice sharing of ideas and business processes

Qualifications

• Diploma / Degree in HR related field (NQF Level 6)
• Valid driver’s license

Experience

• Minimum 7 years’ experience in the Mining, Process or Maintenance
• Engineering field within the Mining Industry.
• Minimum of 5-year Business Improvement experience or a related field
• Minimum of 2-year Project Management experience will be advantageous
• Sound knowledge and application of generalist HR processes in appropriate environment, i.e. Mining and related environments

Knowledge And Skills

• Knowledge of the Mining Industry and relevant legislation including the Mine Health and Safety Act
• Good working knowledge of the Platinum HR Systems and Process
• Abreast of best practices and new HR technologies
• Knowledge and application of HR Business Process Re-engineering
• Good knowledge of change management methodologies
• Project Management Skills
