Job summary

Fruitways in Grabouw invites an experienced Outbound Logistics Manager to lead the logistics team, plan weekly pallet logistics, manage budgets, and drive process improvements in our packhouse. You will oversee the Vitrax system, warehouse equipment, data integrity, and ensure compliance with OHS Act and HACCP/BRC standards while mentoring staff toward high performance and succession planning.

This role requires strong analytical abilities and a deadline-driven mindset to support Fruitways'

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
• At least 5 years’ experience in a similar logistics role.
• Strong understanding of stock management and warehousing processes.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate weekly pallet logistics with loading capacity and dispatch schedules.
• Manage departmental budget, forecasting and reporting deviations to senior management.
• Drive continuous improvement of pallet stock processes to boost efficiency.
• Oversee and optimise use of the Vitrax system and ensure data integrity.
• Lead, develop and motivate the logistics team including training.
• Ensure compliance with OHS Act and food safety standards (BRC & HACCP).

OUTBOUND LOGISTICS MANAGER

We have an exciting career opportunity for an analytical, deadline-driven and compliance-focused individual as an Outbound Logistics Manager for our packhouse in the Grabouw area. Reporting to the GM, you will play a vital role in leading the Logistics department, overseeing planning and dispatch, budget control, process and systems optimisation, data integrity, and team management.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate weekly pallet logistics, ensuring loading capacity, dispatch schedules, and cold chain management align with Marketing's demands
• Manage the departmental budget, forecasting, monitoring expense accounts, and reporting on deviations to senior management
• Drive continuous improvement of pallet stock processes, storage, and handling systems to boost operational efficiency
• Oversee and optimise use of the Vitrax system, proposing enhancements to improve accuracy and process flow
• Analyse materials handling equipment (forklifts, RF scanners, warehouse racking) to identify inefficiencies and lead cost-saving initiatives
• Ensure data integrity and quality within the Vitrax database to support reliable, informed business decisions
• Maintain compliance with Health & Safety (OHS Act) and food safety standards (BRC & HACCP) across the site
• Lead, develop, and motivate the logistics team, managing performance, training, and succession planning

Requirements

• Tertiary Qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management preferred (Diploma or Degree)
• At least 5 years’ experience in similar role (preferably in similar industry)
• Strong understanding of stock management and warehousing systems and processes
• Good understanding of Fruit handling protocols
• Thorough understanding of OHS Act
• Intermediate Excel skills
