Job summary

Ramsay Engineering is seeking a production operator to meet defined output rate and accurately record data on the data capture sheet. The role focuses on waste elimination, achieving daily targets, and contributing to team productivity.

The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of manufacturing experience, Grade 12 or equivalent, and a willingness to support kaizen initiatives and safety standards. Overtime may be required in a fast-paced plant environment.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years' experience in manufacturing environment or similar field is advantageous.
• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification is required.

Responsibilities

• Eliminate waste and achieve daily production targets.
• Contribute to team productivity and kaizen initiatives.
• Ensure quality packaging as per instructions and maintain clean, organized workstation.
• Perform pre-operation machine checks and raise defects or concerns promptly.
• Follow 5S standards and safety procedures; work overtime as needed.

Produce units to the defined output rate. Accurately record all data on the data capture sheet timeously.

Job Objectives:

• Elimination of waste
• Achieve daily production targets

• Support Manufacturing Excellence (production reporting via scoresheets)
• 5S
• Maintain clean and organized workstation
• Follow 5S standards
• Safety, Health and Safety
• Follow safety standards and procedures to lost work case and minor injuries
• Quality
  • Pack parts as per the packing instruction and perform work according to the set standards.
• Raise problems and concerns to the Shift Leader timeously.
  • Ensure parts produced meet quality specifications and follow up on non-conforming product procedures.
  • Work cycle must be completed before leaving work.
  • Perform pre-operation machine checks
  • Identify and report defects
  • Follow standard operating procedures
• Arrive on time for all shifts
• Be available and willing to work overtime

Required Qualifications and Experience

Experience:

• 1-2 years' experience in manufacturing environment or a similar field is advantageous.
