This critical role involves overseeing all operational aspects of the lodge, ensuring the delivery of an unparalleled guest experience, and maximizing profitability. The Operations Manager will manage departments including guest accommodation, game drives, culinary services, maintenance, and staff. We are looking for a seasoned leader with a profound understanding of lodge operations, exceptional people management skills, and a deep appreciation for conservation and wildlife. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all day-to-day operations of the safari lodge.
• Ensure the delivery of exceptional guest experiences from arrival to departure.
• Manage departmental budgets, control costs, and optimize revenue generation.
• Lead, train, and motivate lodge staff, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
• Maintain the highest standards of quality in accommodation, dining, and safari activities.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, including wildlife conservation practices.
• Manage inventory, procurement, and maintenance of lodge facilities and equipment.
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and guest satisfaction.
• Handle guest feedback and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
• Coordinate with guiding teams to ensure memorable and safe game viewing experiences.
• Oversee F&B operations, ensuring high standards of cuisine and service.
• Manage staff accommodation and welfare effectively.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior management role within the safari lodge or high-end hospitality sector.
• Proven experience in managing diverse operational departments.
• Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, P&L management, and cost control.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• In-depth knowledge of lodge operations, including safari activities, F&B, and guest services.
• A passion for wildlife, conservation, and delivering world-class guest experiences.
• Ability to work under pressure in remote and demanding environments.
• Valid driver's license and knowledge of 4x4 driving is advantageous.
• A degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Tourism, or a related field is preferred.
• Must be legally authorized to work in South Africa.
