Placements24 in East London is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our client’s logistics and supply chain functions. The role focuses on efficient flow of goods, warehousing optimization, and transportation management in the Eastern Cape.

You will drive continuous improvements, lead a team of warehouse staff, drivers, and coordinators, and collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to enhance operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics or related field.
• Minimum 6 years' experience in operations management with logistics focus.
• Proven experience leading warehouse operations and transport networks.
• Strong inventory management knowledge and best practices.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
• Proficient in supply chain software (WMS, TMS) and ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily logistics and supply chain operations, including warehousing, inventory control, and transportation.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency and reduce costs.
• Manage and lead a team of warehouse staff, drivers, and logistics coordinators.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of orders, shipments, and returns.
• Monitor inventory levels and implement effective inventory management systems.
• Maintain and improve warehouse operations, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Negotiate with transportation providers to secure favorable rates and service levels.
• Implement and utilize supply chain management software and technology.
• Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Foster strong relationships with suppliers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
