Job summary

Borwood Limited in Durban is seeking an Operations Engineer to support, maintain, and develop secure network, security and voice infrastructure powering Borwood services. The role includes incident resolution, service requests handling, and proactive monitoring of IT infrastructure.

The candidate should have 2+ years hands-on IT experience, with Cisco network platforms, Linux administration, and firewall knowledge. It is a customer-facing role with potential travel for site visits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in an IT environment.
• Knowledge and experience of physical network, systems, security or voice infrastructure.
• Understanding of basic networking concepts.
• Experience in a customer-facing role, providing support for IT services.
• Knowledge / experience of Linux systems administration is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for maintenance, support and development of secure, reliable IT infrastructure.
• Be SPOC for incident and service request resolution and monitor infrastructure services.
• Troubleshoot and manage IT problems and incidents with appropriate tools and processes.
• Engage with customers, Borwood staff and vendors to resolve network, security, system and voice faults.
• Perform maintenance and system upgrades for network, security, systems and voice infrastructure.
