Placements24 seeks an experienced Operations and Maintenance Manager for its Vereeniging-area energy facilities. You will oversee safe, efficient operation, lead engineers and technicians, and drive maintenance strategies to maximize uptime.

You will manage budgets, performance metrics, and safety compliance while guiding a hybrid on-site/remote work approach to sustain asset health and energy security in the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years in operations and maintenance in power generation.
• Experience leading O&M teams and managing budgets.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance planning and CMMS.
• Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations in energy.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client, a significant operator of energy infrastructure, is seeking a seasoned Operations and Maintenance Manager (Energy Sector) to oversee the efficient and safe operation of power generation facilities in the Vereeniging area. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of plant operations, maintenance planning, and execution to ensure maximum uptime, reliability, and performance. You will lead a team of engineers, technicians, and operators, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement. This Hybrid position involves a mix of on-site management and strategic planning conducted remotely. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in power plant operations, a strong understanding of maintenance best practices, and exceptional leadership capabilities. This is a critical role in ensuring the consistent supply of energy and the long-term asset health of our client's facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of maintenance planning, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), and CMMS systems.
• Excellent understanding of safety regulations and environmental compliance in the energy industry.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience working in a Hybrid environment.
• Willingness to be on-site regularly as required by operational needs.
