Job summary

ER24 Jhb North in Gauteng, South Africa, seeks personnel to attend emergency calls and provide basic medical care in line with scope of practice. Two permanent, on-site positions are available with closing date 17/09/2026.

Essential qualification is a Basic Ambulance Assistant Certificate, with 6 months to 1 year road BLS experience. Desirable is HCPS guideline training and 2+ years BLS experience. Preference given to internal applicants as per policy.

Qualifications

• Essential education: Basic Ambulance Assistant Certificate.
• Desirable education: training related to Clinical Practice Guidelines published by the HPCSA.
• Essential minimum experience: 6 months–1 year road BLS experience.
• Desirable experience: 2 years road BLS experience.
• Skills: HPCSA guidelines and scope of practice; English proficiency; knowledge of best practice.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Basic Ambulance Assistant Certificate

DESIRED EDUCATION: Successful completion of training related to Clinical Practice Guidelines published by the Health Professions Council of South Africa will be advantageous. If not compliant with the clinical practice guidelines at the time of application you will be required to complete this training during your probation period if successful in your application.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 6 months – 1-year road BLS experience

DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 2 years road BLS experience
