Placements24 is seeking a Wind Turbine Technician for on-site work in Paarl, Western Cape. You will maintain, inspect, and repair wind turbines, ensuring reliable energy production and adherence to safety standards in outdoor conditions.

The role requires hands-on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting, plus the ability to work at heights and in challenging weather. You will join a safety-conscious team committed to continuous training and high-quality maintenance.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as Wind Turbine Technician.
• Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic knowledge.
• Ability to work safely at heights and pass fitness assessment.
• Familiarity with wind turbine components and operation.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Commitment to health and safety standards.
• On-site, full-time role in Paarl, Western Cape.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on wind turbines, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot turbine faults and failures, implementing effective solutions.
• Conduct preventative maintenance tasks according to manufacturer specifications and company procedures.
• Operate machinery and utilize specialized tools and equipment for maintenance and repair.
• Work at heights on wind turbine towers, adhering strictly to all safety regulations and procedures.
• Document all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs accurately in the maintenance management system.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient and safe work execution.
• Respond to turbine alarms and perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with turbine technology and safety practices.
