Qualifications

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in transport operations, logistics supervision, or fleet management.
• Proven experience supervising a team of drivers and managing daily transport activities.
• Good understanding of South African road transport regulations and safety standards.
• Familiarity with route planning and scheduling software is an advantage.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• A valid Code 10 or Code 14 driver's license is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of truck drivers and delivery personnel.
• Oversee the scheduling of deliveries and pickups to ensure timely and efficient service.
• Monitor driver performance, adherence to schedules, and compliance with safety regulations.
• Conduct regular vehicle inspections and ensure that all vehicles are maintained in good working order.
• Manage the allocation of vehicles to routes and drivers based on operational needs.
• Respond to and resolve any transport-related issues or customer complaints promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of driver logs, delivery manifests, and vehicle maintenance.
• Assist in the planning and optimization of delivery routes to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transport legislation and company policies.
• Train and onboard new drivers, providing guidance on company procedures and safety protocols.
