On-site Security & Building Systems Technician

Job summary

iOCO is seeking a hands-on technician to support software and hardware implementations of security, building management and workforce solutions on client sites in South Africa. You will ensure equipment readiness, assist project managers and drive project execution within agreed timelines and standards.

The role requires fault finding, root cause analysis, and strong communication with customers under pressure. Travel to Johannesburg/Pretoria sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Gr 12 or equivalent schooling or relevant courses.
• Diploma in Electronic/Electrical Engineering (LC).
• PSIRA Certification – C required.
• SAQCC Fire Detection/Service Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure equipment, tools, PPE and documents are ready to execute on-site.
• Assist Project/Service Manager with tasks as instructed.
• Execute projects within approved timelines and standards.
• Prepare and hand over project stock and installation documentation.
• Coordinate on-site installations and ensure commissioning.

Low Voltage wiring knowledge

Electronic skills – low current

Networking knowledge (N+ beneficial)

Access control, CCTV, BMS knowledge

Software installation skills

Education

Gr 12 or equivalent College diploma or Relevant Experience and Courses

DIP Electronic/Electrical Engineering (LC)

PSIRA Certification – C

SAQCC Registration: Fire Detection Commissioner/Serviceman

Tools

MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
