Placements24 seeks a Rotating Equipment Engineer to join a Randburg-based technical team in the Oil & Gas sector. You will be responsible for reliable operation and maintenance of turbines, compressors, pumps, and generators, with hands-on involvement on-site.

The role includes specifying new equipment, overseeing installation and commissioning, developing maintenance strategies, and troubleshooting issues to ensure asset integrity and uptime across rotating machinery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Rotating Equipment Engineer or Mechanical Engineer in oil & gas or process industries.
• Experience with specification, operation, and maintenance of rotating machinery.
• Knowledge of API standards applicable to rotating equipment.
• Familiarity with vibration analysis, condition monitoring techniques, and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM).
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for the selection, design, and procurement of rotating equipment such as centrifugal pumps, gas turbines, and compressors.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for rotating assets.
• Oversee equipment installation, alignment, and commissioning to meet specifications.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Review equipment performance data and identify opportunities for reliability improvements.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and company policies related to equipment integrity.
