The role focuses on supplier evaluation, price negotiations, contract terms, and maintaining optimal inventory to support production while reducing costs. You will collaborate with planning, quality and production teams, ensuring material quality and timely deliveries in a fast-paced on-site environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3-5 years of procurement experience in sourcing raw materials or manufacturing supplies.
• Proven experience negotiating with suppliers for commodities and industrial materials.
• Strong understanding of inventory management and production planning processes.
• ERP systems proficiency (SAP/Oracle) and MS Office.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement of raw materials and production supplies.
• Identify, evaluate, and select qualified suppliers based on quality, price, reliability, and service.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings.
• Monitor market trends for raw materials and advise on potential price fluctuations and supply chain risks.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels of raw materials to meet production demands while minimizing holding costs.
• Ensure all procured materials meet required quality specifications and standards.
• Process purchase orders, track deliveries, and resolve any supply chain disruptions or discrepancies.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key raw material suppliers.
• Collaborate with production, planning, and quality control teams to align procurement activities with business needs.
• Prepare regular reports on raw material procurement activities, costs, supplier performance, and inventory levels for management in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga.
