Job summary

S4 Integration (Pty) Ltd. seeks a proactive Mechanical Project Engineer (Site Lead) to head installation and commissioning of special-purpose machinery and industrial automation on customer sites across South Africa.

You will lead installation teams, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure safety, quality and timely project delivery while collaborating with customers, design engineers, and internal teams. A National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3–7 years of experience is

Qualifications

• Bachelors or diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–7 years' experience in mechanical project engineering or industrial automation.
• Experience leading installations and managing site activities.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise mechanical installation and commissioning activities on customer sites.
• Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and resources for efficient execution.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
• Provide hands-on engineering support during installations and commissioning.
• Liaise with customers and maintain strong client relationships throughout execution.
• Conduct site inspections, progress meetings, and quality checks.
• Coordinate equipment deliveries and site logistics; assist with planning and reporting.
• Support preparation of quotations and technical proposals as required.
• Coordinate maintenance callouts and after-sales support when needed.
• Identify and resolve technical and operational challenges on-site.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
• Travel to customer sites across South Africa as required.
