Placements24 in Pietermaritzburg is seeking an Installation Technician to join our client’s team, handling installations, maintenance, and on-site commissioning.

You will read blueprints, work with mechanical and electrical components, and ensure safety standards while providing excellent customer service. Travel to client sites around Pietermaritzburg is required; a valid driver’s license is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Installation Technician or in a similar hands-on technical role.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and manuals.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, or relevant system components.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record for travel to client sites in and around Pietermaritzburg.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test equipment and systems per specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on installed systems.
• Conduct site assessments to plan installations and identify challenges.
• Document installation activities, maintenance logs, and repair reports accurately.
• Provide on-site technical support and training to clients on usage and maintenance.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company guidelines on all work activities.
