Job summary

Automobile Association is seeking a reliable Property Caretaker to support the upkeep and safe operation of our facilities. The role covers minor repairs, safety and upkeep, contractor coordination and standby after hours.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years in caretaking or maintenance, practical knowledge of building systems, and a willingness to live on site as part of a couple. OHASA compliance and basic IT literacy are required.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 is required.
• Minimum 5 years of caretaking, facilities or maintenance experience.
• Practical understanding of building maintenance and basic mechanical/electrical systems.
• Willingness to live on site as part of a couple and be available for standby and call-outs.

Responsibilities

• Carry out minor repairs to buildings and equipment where necessary (plumbing, electrical, general maintenance).
• Investigate maintenance complaints across sites and resolve problems; follow up on damage reports.
• Maintain and operate HVAC and other mechanical systems for productivity and efficiency.
• Procurement: obtain quotations and manage purchases of services/goods.
• Assist with contractor selection and management; maintain relationships with service providers.
