Placements24 is sourcing an experienced Information Security Specialist for our client in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and managing robust security protocols to protect client data and IT systems in a demanding threat landscape.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years in information security, hands-on experience with SIEM, endpoint and cloud security, and strong incident response skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/Cybersecurity required or equivalent.
• Experience in designing and implementing security controls.
• Certifications like CompTIA Security+ or CEH are advantageous.
• Solid knowledge of network protocols, OS, and app security.
• Experience in incident response and forensic analysis.

Responsabilités

• Implement and maintain security controls to protect assets and data.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for vulnerabilities.
• Monitor network traffic and logs for suspicious activity and incidents.
• Respond to and investigate security breaches; report findings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed security best practices.
• Develop and deliver security awareness training for staff.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cyber threats, technologies, and regulations.
• Manage security hardware and software (firewalls, VPNs, IDS).
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
