Placements24 is seeking a motivated Junior Site Engineer for an on-site role in Paarl, Western Cape. A recent graduate will assist in executing construction projects, learning from senior engineers and site managers, and gaining hands-on experience in quality control and problem solving.

You will read drawings, conduct site inspections, and support safety, scheduling, and procurement activities, with opportunities for professional development within a structured internship program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Strong academic record and a passion for construction and engineering.
• Basic understanding of construction methods, materials and site operations.
• Familiarity with reading engineering drawings and specifications.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to site conditions.
• Must be able to work on-site in Paarl.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers with site planning, scheduling and resource management.
• Conduct daily site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.
• Help manage on-site operations, coordinating with foremen and subcontractors.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and prepare reports on site activities.
• Ensure all work aligns with project plans, safety regulations and quality standards.
• Assist in material take-offs and procurement processes.
• Document site progress, issues and resolutions accurately.
• Support health and safety protocols on site.
• Participate in site meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
