Job summary

Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd in Gauteng seeks an experienced Data Centre Specialist to ensure the availability, reliability and control of the Data Centre in line with business requirements and IT delivery mandates.

Major responsibilities include monitoring Data Centre availability, capacity optimisation and overseeing hosting of ICT equipment in a physical secure environment, in collaboration with Group IT functions to implement Data Centre strategies and projects.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience in Data Centre environments and critical operations.
• Experience monitoring Data Centre availability and capacity.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and functions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and report on overall Data Centre availability and capacity optimisation.
• Advise on the design, build, and oversee hosting of ICT equipment in a secure environment.
• Support engagements with all Group IT functions.
• Perform Data Centre implementation strategies related to hosting of hardware.
• Assist the Data Centre Manager with planning and researching new Data Centre technology solutions.
