Job summary

DSV in Cape Town is seeking an Ocean Export Supervisor to lead day-to-day ocean export operations, ensuring shipments are processed accurately and efficiently in line with customer requirements and company procedures. The role emphasizes building strong relationships with customers, carriers, overseas offices and internal teams to meet SLA and KPI targets.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years in ocean freight forwarding with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, along with a Grade 12

Qualifications

• Grade 12
• 7+ years experience in ocean freight forwarding Import/Export
• 2+ years in a supervisory role
• Own transport
• Ability to work overtime / after hours when required
• Leadership courses (DSV talent pool etc.) OR Management programs - advantage

Responsibilities

• Run with daily exception reports for operations and manage with staff.
• Manage productivity daily / weekly / monthly.
• Drive internal and external metrics daily / weekly.
• Evaluate service levels weekly / monthly.
• Customer relationship management and service delivery excellence.
• Process compliance, data quality, and operational governance.
• Continuous improvement and efficiency enhancement initiatives.
• Processing of ocean export shipments - end to end.
• To drive metric performance.
• To support sales in their objectives in achieving growth targets.
• To support operations with queries and manage customer expectations.
• Identify and target opportunities for improved efficiencies.
