Qualifications
- PhD in Nursing or equivalent qualification.
- At least four years' lecturing experience in Higher Education.
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a professional nurse, midwife and nurse educator.
- A postgraduate nursing speciality is advantageous.
- Promotion criteria for Senior Lecturer includes teaching, research, community engagement and leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lecture on undergraduate and postgraduate Nursing programmes.
- Develop innovative teaching methods and materials.
- Coordinate teaching to ensure SANC compliance.
- Participate in Quality Assurance activities.
- Promote scholarship of teaching and learning.
- Monitor and assess Work Integrated Learning.
- Research supervision of postgraduate students.
- Publish DHET-accredited publications.
- Perform academic and administrative duties in the Department.
- Lead community engagement projects relevant to the department.
