Department of Health at Gauteng College of Nursing (Rahima Moosa Campus) is seeking a Lecturer in Health Science Research/Health Service Dynamics Nursing. The post requires senior nursing qualifications and teaching experience.

The appointee will lead education and training, assess student competency, and contribute to scholarly activities while aligning with the college’s mission and service delivery goals.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate.
• SANC-registered professional nurse and midwife/accoucheur with R.425 or equivalent.
• Diploma/degree in Nursing Education.
• Post Basic Diploma registered with SANC (R.212 or R.48).
• Master’s degree in Nursing or Public Health (or in data analysis stage).
• Proof of current SANC registration.
• Certificate in Assessor and Moderator.
• Good communication, supervisory, report writing and presentations skills.
• Teamwork and ability to work under pressure.
• Computer literacy: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Valid driver’s license.
• PND1: 4 years nursing experience post-registration.
• PND2: 14 years nursing experience, incl. 10 in Nursing Education.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Education and Training of specialist student nurses in clinical and theory.
• Guide and support student nurses effectively.
• Exercise control over specialist student nurses.
• Implement assessment strategies to determine competency.
• Support the college’s vision through meetings and committees participation.
• Participate in Scholarly Research and Community Engagement activities.
• Participate in curriculum implementation, monitoring, evaluation and review.
