Qualifications

PhD in Nursing or equivalent qualification.
At least four (4) years' lecturing experience in Higher Education.
A qualification in nursing education and nursing management.
A three or four-year qualification in general nursing and midwifery.
Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a professional nurse, midwife and nurse educator.
An additional qualification in a postgraduate nursing speciality will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

Lecture on the undergraduate and postgraduate Nursing programmes.
Develop innovative teaching and learning methods and materials for the subjects being taught (e.g., lecture notes, tutorials, online content).
Coordinate teaching and learning of the nursing undergraduate and postgraduate programmes to ensure SANC compliance.
Participate in the Quality Assurance activities of the Department.
Promote scholarship of teaching and learning.
Monitor and assess Work Integrated Learning.
Research supervision of postgraduate students.
Participate in research projects and produce DHET-accredited publications
Perform appropriate academic and administrative duties in the Department.
Lead community engagement projects that are relevant to the department and that contribute positively to society.
Perform other functions as may be assigned by the Head of Department.
