Job summary

Netcare invites applications for the Hospital Based Academic Staff (HBAS) role. The successful candidate will facilitate nursing education, coordinate WIL placements, and collaborate with Netcare Education to maintain standards, research involvement, and clinical skills development.

This role requires SANC registration, nursing education qualifications, and strong LMS administration. The HBAS will support academic committees, ensure quality management, and contribute to ongoing professional

Qualifications

• Proof of current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a General Nurse and Midwife with Nursing Education qualification.
• A bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Assessor unit standard completed and registered with SANC and conducted through Heart solutions as per Netcare Education policy.
• Moderator unit standard to be completed and registered with SANC within the first year of employment.
• A master’s degree in Clinical Specialty/Education will be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and actively participate in academic projects and research.
• Load all results of clinical assessments and maintain accurate student records on the LMS.
• Supervise progress of students and provide timely feedback to support learning objectives.
• Facilitate Work Integrated Learning (WIL) for Netcare students within the clinical model.
• Conduct academic rounds and ensure quality assurance and risk management in education.
