Job summary

Shift Pursuit is seeking a Clinical Facilitator in Gauteng to lead nursing staff education, development and CPD. The role focuses on coordinating training, assessing learning needs and ensuring clinical teaching aligns with hospital standards.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of clinical facilitation experience, is SANC registered and holds post-basic qualifications in Nursing Education and Administration. Prior private hospital exposure is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in General Nursing is required.
• Post Basic Qualification in Nursing Education is essential.
• Post Basic Qualification in Nursing Administration is essential.
• SANC Registration is required.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Clinical Facilitator.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and coordinate education, training and development of nursing staff and students.
• Assess learning needs and develop educational programmes.
• Provide clinical teaching, support and guidance to nursing staff.
• Conduct theoretical and practical training in line with hospital policies and standards.
• Facilitate orientation and induction of new staff.
• Support competency assessments and clinical skills programmes.
• Identify gaps and provide training interventions.
• Develop and evaluate in-service training programmes.
• Ensure compliance with SANC requirements and healthcare standards.
• Maintain training records and collaborate with management to identify needs.

Requirements

• Degree/Diploma in General Nursing

• SANC Registered
• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Clinical Facilitator
• Previous private hospital experience (highly advantageous)

Key Performance Areas

• Facilitate and coordinate the education, training and development of nursing staff and students.
• Assess the learning needs of nursing staff and develop appropriate educational programmes.
• Provide clinical teaching, support and guidance to nursing staff within the hospital environment.
• Conduct theoretical and practical training in line with hospital policies and clinical standards.
• Facilitate the orientation and induction of new nursing staff.
• Support the implementation and evaluation of competency assessments and clinical skills programmes.
• Identify gaps in clinical knowledge and provide appropriate training and development interventions.
• Assist with the development, implementation and evaluation of in-service training programmes.
• Ensure that all training and educational activities comply with SANC requirements and relevant healthcare standards.
• Maintain accurate records of training, assessments, competencies and staff development.
• Work closely with Unit Managers and nursing management to identify training needs and improve patient care standards.
• Support quality improvement initiatives, audits and continuous professional development within the hospital.
• Mentor and guide nursing staff to promote safe, effective and evidence-based nursing practice.
