Job summary

Pedros in KwaZulu-Natal (Pinetown) is seeking an experienced Night Shift Warehouse Supervisor for the Distribution Centre to oversee poultry picking, marinas blending, lug wash, and vehicle pre-cooling operations. You will ensure 03:00 routes dispatch on schedule while upholding food safety, hygiene, cold chain, and SOP compliance.

You will manage staff, enforce SOPs across night shifts, and ensure reports reach HODs and senior management. Strong leadership and regulatory knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Matric is required.
• Tertiary qualification in Supply chain management or Warehouse & distribution or similar.
• Management experience in a warehouse/distribution centre, preferably FMCG/QSR.
• Solid understanding of cold chain.
• Experience planning TES labour for volume spikes.
• Staff management experience.
• Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
• Sage experience is beneficial.
• Attention to detail.
• Conflict management.
• English and Zulu conversant.
• No criminal record.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all night shift warehouse, poultry picking, marina blending, lug wash, vehicle pre-cooling, and loading/dispatch operations at the DC, ensuring 03:00 routes dispatch on schedule while maintaining compliance.
• On-time dispatch of all 03:00 routes.
• Cold chain and vehicle pre-cooling compliance.
• Picking and poultry picking accuracy.
• Marinade blending SOP and hygiene compliance.
• Lug wash bay hygiene and checklist compliance.
• SOP adherence across all nightshift departments.
• Staff discipline, uniform, and attendance management.
• Ensure SOP reports emailed to HODs, DC Manager, National Logistics Manager, and DC GM in copy.
• End-of-shift site security and housekeeping compliance.

• Cold chain and vehicle pre-cooling compliance

Requirements

• Matric


• Tertiary qualification in Supply chain management or Warehouse and distribution or similar


• Management experience in a similar role in a warehouse or distribution centre environment (preferably from the QSR or FMCG industry)


• Solid understanding of cold chain


• Experienced dealing with TES labor – planning of resources for spikes in volumes


• Management of staff


• Microsoft skills - excel / word


• Sage experience will be beneficial
