Job summary

Au Pair Extraordinaire is seeking an au pair in Newlands, Western Cape, Cape Town area. The role is a permanent, part-time arrangement with hours Monday to Thursday, 12:00/12:30–16:00, caring for a 4-year-old boy.

Salary is R10,500 per month plus SARS rates per km for caregiving driving duties between the family’s locations. You will collect the child from school, supervise homework, engage in educational play, and help with packing bags and preparing snacks.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 12 months of formal child caring experience, within the last 2 years.
• Must have own reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.
• Must have 2 contactable childcare references.
• Must have a clear criminal record.
• Must have a passion for children.
• Matric is required.
• South African ID document required.

Responsibilities

• Collect child from school and transport to extra-mural activities as required.
• Assist with homework supervision, educational play and age-appropriate activities.
• Pack school bags and prepare snacks and meals, including sandwiches for lunch.

Duties: Collect him from school and transport him to extra-mural activities as required. Assist with homework supervision, educational play and age-appropriate activities, packing school bags, and preparing snacks and meals, including sandwiches for lunch.

Special Requirements: Compassionate, warm and empathetic, with a genuine love for working with young children. Male/Female. Patient, gentle and understanding, using positive discipline and encouragement to guide behaviour.

Preferred Start Date & Contract Term: November 2026 - permanent

Salary: R10500 per month + SARS Rates per km for driving done for the family. Not to get to work and back.
