Placements24 is seeking a Field Service Technician in Midrand to install, configure, and test networking hardware at client sites. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain network equipment, ensuring minimal downtime for customers.

The role calls for strong TCP/IP knowledge, experience with routers/switches/firewalls, and excellent customer service skills; a valid driver’s license and own vehicle are required. Hybrid work and field travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Experience with on-site networking support and field service.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and LAN/WAN concepts.
• Ability to install and troubleshoot routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
• Certifications such as CCNA/Network+ preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test networking hardware at client sites.
• Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on network equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot network hardware/software issues.
• Respond to service calls and resolve issues promptly.
• Document all service calls and work performed accurately.
