Placements24 is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join their IT infrastructure team in East London. You will design, implement, and maintain the organization’s network systems to ensure high availability and performance.

Responsibilities include configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and APs; monitoring performance and troubleshooting; enforcing security policies; and documenting configurations. Office-based role with growth through certs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in network engineering and administration.
• Proficiency with network hardware from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper).
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and network services (DNS, DHCP).
• Experience with network security principles and tools.
• Certs such as CCNA, CCNP, or Network+ are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues, ensuring optimal uptime.
• Implement and manage network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
• Plan and execute network upgrades and expansions to meet evolving business requirements.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams and configurations.
• Provide technical support for network-related issues and collaborate with other IT teams.
