Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced IP Network Specialist to join their East London core network operations team. The role focuses on configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting routers, switches, and other IP devices to maintain stable data services in a telecoms environment.

Responsibilities include implementing routing protocols, ensuring network security with firewalls and ACLs, and supporting design and capacity planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of IP network administration/engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, and OSPF required.
• Hands-on troubleshooting with Wireshark, Ping, and Traceroute.

Responsibilities

• Configure, manage, and maintain IP network devices (routers/switches).
• Monitor network performance and resolve issues promptly.
• Design and implement routing and network services (DNS/DHCP).
• Enforce security with firewalls and ACLs.
• Support network design and capacity planning.
• Provide Level 2/3 incident response.
• Document configurations and troubleshooting steps.
