Job summary

OryxAlign seeks a Network Design Engineer to scope, design, and propose robust network solutions for clients. You will work with the Lead Solution Architect and teams to translate client requirements into technically sound, commercially viable designs.

The role balances immediate client needs with long-term tech and service objectives, ensuring designs are practical, sustainable, and aligned with future service requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of architectural standards and supportable solution requirements.
• Ability to produce clear end-to-end technical designs and documentation.
• Experience with public cloud infrastructure and related design artefacts.
• Experience contributing to bid management, RFIs, tender responses, and technical proposals.
• Cybersecurity knowledge across relevant platforms and secure design principles.
• Proficiency in networking, storage, server technologies, hardware, and IP voice tech.
• Familiarity with Smart Building infrastructure and diverse stakeholders.
• Knowledge of ITIL practices and project management basics.
• Strong written communication and evidence-based decision making.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sales and Managed Services to scope, design, and propose network solutions.
• Provide technical input for tenders including options, risks, and benefits.
• Attend client meetings with Sales, offering consultative support and recommendations.
• Develop detailed network topologies, designs, and related documentation.
• Maintain knowledge of Cisco, Dell, and Meraki technologies.
• Support lifecycle replacement projects to keep client hardware current.
• Develop client technology roadmaps and budgets aligned with goals.
• Troubleshoot issues and make evidence-based recommendations.
• Share knowledge and improve design and delivery practices.
• Prioritise workload and support successful client handovers.
