Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking a Mid/Senior Network Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain a core network for our hosting business and internal IT functions. You will leverage your extensive experience with Cisco IOS and Extreme XOS, as well as strong Linux administration, virtualization, and cloud skills.

You will evaluate new networking technologies, document complex configurations, and collaborate with the wider IT team to ensure robust, secure, and scalable network services.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of experience as Senior Network Engineer or Network Administrator.
• Experience with Cisco IOS, Extreme XOS and other router/switch/firewall OSs.
• Strong Linux-based system administration, virtualization, containerization, and cloud platforms.
• Understanding of switching services: STP, VLAN, QinQ, COS, Switch Stacking, LACP, RSPAN.
• Deliver customer solutions on time, with autonomy and project management.
• Deep knowledge of networking principles and core internet routing technologies.
• Scripting in Python/Bash.
• Certifications are advantageous but industry experience counts.
• Knowledge of Layer 2/3 technologies and network security principles.
• Experience with open-source log analysis, configuration management, and monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, support, and maintain core network for hosting business and services.

• Research new network technologies and propose upgrades.
• Document and present technical information clearly to stakeholders.
• Write documentation and train staff on platforms after implementation.
• Collaborate with sysadmin teams to integrate network functions into services.
• Provide third-tier support for network issues.
• Automate network tasks and maintain technical docs.
• Mentor team members on networking topics.
• Architect, deploy, maintain, and scale platforms; test network security measures.
