Job summary

Stefanutti Stocks Group in Kempton Park is seeking a Network Administrator to install, maintain, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN infrastructure. You will configure switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs, manage VLANs, IP addressing, DHCP and DNS, and monitor performance across the network.

You will document configurations, participate in site deployments, provide IT support to User Support and Operations teams, and work with service providers.

Qualifications

• Relevant IT qualification or equivalent practical experience.
• Certifications such as MikroTik, Network+, Microsoft or equivalent are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain LAN, WAN and wireless network infrastructure.
• Configure and troubleshoot switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points and VPNs.
• Manage VLANs, IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, routing and network segmentation.
• Monitor network performance, availability and capacity.
• Diagnose and resolve network connectivity and performance issues.
• Assist with network security, firewall administration and access controls.
• Maintain network diagrams, IP addressing records, configurations and infrastructure documentation.
• Participate in network upgrades, infrastructure projects and new site deployments.
• Provide technical support and escalation assistance to the IT User Support and IT Operations teams.
• Assist with Windows/Linux server administration, virtualisation, backups and other systems administration tasks.
• Work with external service providers and technology vendors when required.

Job description

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting, routing, DHCP and DNS.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows.
• Good documentation and communication skills.
• A proactive approach to identifying and resolving infrastructure problems.

Experience:

• 2-4 years' experience in network administration or a similar infrastructure role.
• Practical experience with switches, firewalls, wireless networks and VPNs.
• Some practical experience with server or systems administration.
• Experience with MikroTik, UniFi, OPNsense/pfSense or similar platforms (advantageous).
• Experience with network monitoring and IPAM systems (advantageous).
• Linux administration (advantageous).
• VMware, Hyper-V or Proxmox (advantageous).
• RADIUS, 802.1X or network access control (advantageous).
• Scripting or network automation (advantageous).
• Network security experience (advantageous).
