Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Nanny & Home-Based Tutor in Paarl/Stellenbosch area to care for two children, aged 4 and 6, while delivering early literacy and numeracy support at home. The role combines childcare with structured educational activities in a family setting.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in childcare or ECD, with a relevant degree, solid curriculum knowledge, and fluency in English and Afrikaans. A drivers license and CPR/First Aid are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Nanny or Early Childhood Educator with tutoring/educational support for young children.
• Degree or diploma in Education, Early Childhood Development, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of early learning curricula and pedagogical approaches.
• Excellent command of English and Afrikaans is a significant advantage.
• Proven ability to create and deliver engaging educational activities.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Must be legally permitted to work in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive daily care for two young children, including routines, feeding, and hygiene.
• Develop and implement engaging educational programs tailored to early learners, focusing on literacy and numeracy.
• Assist children with preschool/early primary school homework and learning activities.
• Plan and supervise educational outings and age-appropriate recreational activities.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for the children.
• Prepare healthy meals and snacks.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding children's progress, development and any issues.
• Foster a love for learning through interactive and creative methods.
• Manage children's schedules and ensure timely school attendance if applicable.
