Job summary

Placements24 in East London, Eastern Cape is seeking a dedicated nanny to care for two children (ages 18 months and 4 years). You will plan engaging learning activities, manage daily routines, supervise meals and safety, and create a warm home learning environment.

Requirements include at least 2 years of childcare experience, valid First Aid/CPR, good communication, and eligibility to work in South Africa. Competitive salary, paid leave, and development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of professional childcare experience.
• Understanding of child development for toddlers and preschoolers.
• Valid First Aid and CPR certification is mandatory.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, reliable and responsible with a warm, caring nature.
• Ability to plan and execute daily activities.
• Must be legally eligible to work in South Africa.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and provide references.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent and loving care for toddler and preschooler, ensuring safety and emotional well-being.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate developmental activities (sensory play, reading, music, outdoor exploration).
• Prepare healthy meals and snacks according to dietary needs.
• Manage daily routines (feeding, napping, hygiene).
• Maintain a clean and organized play area and children’s spaces.
• Engage children in stimulating play and outings to local parks in East London.
• Communicate regularly with parents about the day, progress and observations.
• Encourage social skills, independence and a love for learning.
• Assist with potty training for the younger child.
