Job summary

AFMS Group in Cape Town is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support skilled trades and perform minor maintenance tasks across a range of building fabric and facility systems.

You will assist in corrective, preventative and planned maintenance, conduct inspections, and help log calls and feedback to the FM team. The role requires a hands-on, proactive approach and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

• Must have Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years maintenance experience in built environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in corrective, planned and preventive maintenance.
• Repairs to building fabric, carpentry and joinery.
• Repairs to locks, handles hinges and accessories.
• Repairs to office furniture and cabinets.
• Conduct minor building repairs, maintenance and painting.
• Maintain toolboxes and equipment.
• Report defects and assist rectifying.
• Perform daily routine building inspections and report to line manager.
• Manage general housekeeping and tools register.
