Job summary

Libstar in the Western Cape seeks a Production Operator to assist in running the production line, perform start/stop duties, and ensure production targets are met. You will handle waste safely, complete daily production reports, and maintain housekeeping and food safety standards.

You will also train operators, monitor line efficiency, conduct start-up checks, and troubleshoot equipment to minimize delays while ensuring product integrity and compliance with customer specifications.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 /NQF Level N4 qualification is required.
• Strong understanding of baking processes and equipment efficiency.
• Commitment to food safety principles and HACCP awareness.

Responsibilities

• Handle /discard waste safely and record it on reports.
• Complete daily production reports and submit to Coordinators.
• Perform start-up and shutdown duties for the production line at each shift.
• Operate the production line to meet efficiency targets and avoid accidents.
• Ensure all orders are produced in full and line runs smoothly.
• Train operators and assistants in line procedures and safety standards.

Job description

Purpose

Assist in the running of the production line as well as being able to fulfill various roles within the specified production as and when required to ensure production targets are met.

Main Tasks/Responsibilities

• Handle /discard waste that is produced in a safe manner and recording it on the necessary reports
• Complete daily production reports/ documentation and submit to Coordinators
• The completion of reports accurately and timeously
• Handle start-up and shut down duties pertaining to the production line at the beginning of each shift
• Operate the production line effectively to avoid any accidents
• Ensuring all orders are produced in full
• Ensuring the line is producing at the required efficiency rates
• Responsible for product integrity, meeting customer specifications and quality checks of all products produced at relevant manufacturing stage
• Ensure good housekeeping standards
• Ensure all start-up checks are conducted on equipment before use and take appropriate actions where deviations are found
• Troubleshoot equipment problems in a timely manner to avoid any delays and standby time
• Notify Coordinates about equipment and production problems and any deviations
• Maintain waste within the requirement targets
• Able to train operators, oveners, de-boxers, scalers
• Understanding and Utilisation of the TransLution deboxing function
• Understanding and Utilisation of the TransLution scaling function
• Issuing of main mix within the production area
• Ensure that the mixer job is closed
• Book reworks, when required
• Ensure that packaging is issued and returned when not used
• Ensure that Box and Lug Labels are printed and that pallets are built
• Ensure that job waste is recorded within the Production environment
• Ensure that pallets are put in transit, when required.
• Comply with the necessary Occupational Health and Safety requirements
• Ensure compliance to all food safety regulations, allergen control, housekeeping and pest control
