Job summary

Qualifications

• Matric or equivalent qualification.
• Previous mould operator or similar production machine experience.
• Working knowledge of moulding processes and basic machine settings.
• Ability to read and follow production instructions and quality specs.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate moulding machinery in line with SOPs and production schedules.
• Set up, start up and shut down machines safely at shift start and end.
• Load raw materials and monitor feed levels throughout runs.
• Carry out mould changes and basic tooling adjustments as required.
• Monitor cycle times, temperatures and pressures and adjust settings as needed.
• Inspect finished products against quality specs and remove defects.
• Record production output, downtime, scrap and rejects accurately.
• Perform routine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance on machines and moulds.
• Report faults and deviations to the supervisor promptly.
• Assist with trimming, finishing, packing and labelling as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and comply with HSE requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
