Job summary

Select Motor Recruitment is seeking a skilled motorcycle technician in Stellenbosch to diagnose, repair, and maintain motorcycles. You will support workshop staff and ensure accurate job card updates, while attending technical training and keeping the workshop organized.

Ideal candidates have a Senior Certificate, a Red Seal certificate, and 2–5 years of workshop experience, with a valid motorcycle license and Office Suite literacy. This is an on-site position at the Stellenbosch workshop.

Qualifications

• Senior Certificate (Grade 12) completed or in progress.
• Red Seal motorcycle technician certification required.
• 2–5 years of workshop experience after qualification.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair motorcycles and related components.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date job cards.
• Provide technical and non-technical support to workshop staff.
• Attend general departmental meetings and keep the workspace clean.
• Participate in technical training to stay updated.
• Carry out preventative and scheduled maintenance on motorcycles.
• Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble motorcycle engines and related systems.
• Diagnose and repair faults in motorcycle engines and systems.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for vehicle diagnoses
• Ensure all job cards are updated accurately
• Responsible for (technical / non-technical assistance) to workshop staff
• Attend general departmental meeting and maintain good housekeeping
• Attend technical training
• Perform preventative and scheduled maintenance on motorcycles
• Dismantle, inspect, assess, repair and assemble motorcycle engines and related system components
• Diagnose and repair faults in motorcycle engines and related system components

Minimum Requirements:

• Senior Certificate (Grade 12) – important for further technical development
• Valid Motorcycle Drivers’ licence
• Qualified Motorcycle and Scooter Technician (Red Seal Certificate)
• 2-5 Years' workshop experience after qualification
• Motorcycle workshop experience essential
• Computer Literate (Office Suite)
