Job summary

MiWay is seeking a field assessor to evaluate damaged vehicles, document safety systems, and estimate repair costs and timelines. You will generate claims or investigative reports and discuss required repairs with clients and insurers.

You will perform repair calculations, verify rates and discounts, process repair requests, and handle Audatex data entry to support approvals. Strong communication and meticulous data handling are essential.

Responsibilities

What will you do?

The field assessor assesses damaged vehicles to identify and record the extent of the damage. This includes assessing safety systems, deciding whether to repair, replace and estimating approximate costs and timeframes for required repair.

This role supports the claims handling philosophy by mitigating risk of vehicle spend (quantification, identification, and validation of vehicle). The assessor generates claims reports and investigative reports, determines market value for settlements, is up to date with automobile-related health and safety legislation and industry repair methods and has excellent interactive skills to discuss the damage and required repairs with clients, insurers, supervisors, and team members.

Repair Costing and Data Management

• Conduct initial repair calculations and assist assessors with calculation finalization, verifying factors such as labour rates, discounts, and adherence to repair panel utilization (e.g., Warrantees, BEE compliance).
• Process all Repair Calculation Requests (RC Requests) received from the Motor Body Repairer (MBR), ensuring documentation is in line with the MBR Service Level Agreement (SLA).
• Accurately process manual repair calculation requests, adhering to standard internal procedures.
• Perform administrative functions related to Audatex, including data entry and preparing calculations for assessor approval.
• Process data related to Change of Repairer requests and Claims Payments.

Compliance and Operational Support

• Ensure rigorous compliance with all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and internal protocols within themotor assessing team.
• Assist in identifying trends and collecting data that may inform recommendations for continuous processimprovement and controls.
• Assist with MBR complaints and queries, ensuring the agreed solution is followed through and documented.
• Ensure all necessary steps are taken to mitigate any risk of customer dissatisfaction during the costingprocess.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the complete end-to-end process regarding a motor claim and theassociated repair process.

Stakeholder Liaison and Administration

• Liaise effectively with repairers, suppliers, and service providers to ensure relevant, accurate, and timelyfeedback is given where required.
• Ensure all processes are followed when engaging with internal and external stakeholders, consistently actingwith fairness, integrity, and professionalism.
• Adhere strictly to agreed turnaround times (TATs) for all administrative and processing tasks to ensurecustomer satisfaction.
• Ensure that all relevant statistics and reports are updated timeously and with absolute accuracy
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy is crucial.
• Strong Problem-Solving Skills and an Analytical thinker with strong conceptual skills.
• Ability to work comfortably and effectively under pressure and deliver on tight deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as a collaborative part of a team
