What will you do?

The Merit Desktop Investigator plays a critical role in safeguarding the insurer from fraudulent, inflated, or misrepresented claims through effective desktop-based investigation. This role requires strong analytical acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to make well-supported merit decisions without the need for physical fieldwork. The incumbent will evaluate commercial and personal lines claims to ensure validity, policy compliance, and fairness to all parties.

Minimum Qualification Required

• Grade 12/Standard 10/NQF 4
• Tertiary qualification will be an added advantage
• Valid driver’s license

Minimum Experience

• Minimum 3 years short-term claims insurance experience
• Minimum 2 years Claims experience, more specifically Motor claims.
• Experience in Personal lines products essential, Business product an added advantage
• Solid understanding of claims systems and claims procedures: inclusive of claims, investigations, and legal department processes

Deliverables include, but will not be limited to

• Validating claims by liaising with clients, Brokers, SAPS officials, tracing witnesses compiling investigations report on the work done in line with Miway Claims Philosophy.
• Managing validations of claims and other skill sets when required.
• Reaching company goals and targets set for the Commercial and Personal line Investigations department.
• Administering assigned claims and set tasks.
• Managing client and broker expectation.
• Knowledgeable on Broker procedures.
• Maintaining set timelines on the processing of claims.
