Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related life science field.
• Previous laboratory experience, preferably in a research or diagnostic setting.
• Proficiency in basic laboratory techniques and an understanding of molecular biology principles.
• Familiarity with sterile techniques and handling of biological samples.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow protocols precisely.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a research team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the execution of laboratory experiments for the development and validation of molecular diagnostic assays.
• Perform routine molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, and gel electrophoresis.
• Prepare reagents and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies.
• Accurately record experimental data and maintain detailed laboratory notebooks.
• Contribute to data analysis and report generation under the supervision of senior researchers.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and quality control standards in Paarl.
