Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Research Fellow to join a dynamic molecular biology group in Port Elizabeth. This postdoctoral position offers the chance to conduct original research in a collaborative academic environment, exploring fundamental biological processes or potential therapeutic targets.

The fellow will design, perform, and analyze experiments (gene cloning, PCR/qPCR, Western blotting, cell culture), contribute to manuscripts, and present findings at meetings and conferences.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a life science field.
• Hands-on molecular biology lab experience essential.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, perform and document experiments in molecular biology.
• Analyze data using appropriate statistical methods and software.
• Contribute to writing and submission of manuscripts to peer‑reviewed journals.
• Present findings at internal lab meetings, seminars and conferences.
• Collaborate with lab members on ongoing projects and maintain safety standards.
