Job summary

Virgin Active is expanding its Digital & Technology Transformation Team and seeks Mobile Engineers at mid and senior levels to design, build and maintain high-quality mobile experiences across Android and iOS using Kotlin Multiplatform. Join a global team delivering scalable, shared code and collaborating with Product, Design, QA and backend engineers.

You will contribute to automated testing, CI/CD, and mobile release processes while guiding architectural decisions and technical delivery for

Qualifications

• Experience building and supporting production mobile applications.
• Strong Kotlin experience, ideally including Kotlin Multiplatform.
• Experience developing shared functionality across Android and iOS.
• A good understanding of mobile architecture, APIs and application performance.
• Knowledge of automated testing, CI/CD and mobile release processes.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving and communication skills.
• A collaborative approach to working within a cross-functional Product and Engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain mobile features using Kotlin Multiplatform.
• Develop shared functionality across Android and iOS, with platform-specific solutions where needed.
• Work with Product, Design, QA and backend engineers to deliver high-quality mobile experiences.
• Integrate the app with APIs, services and third-party platforms.
• Write clean, testable code and contribute to code reviews and engineering standards.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve app performance and reliability.
• Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD and mobile release processes.
• Identify opportunities to simplify solutions, reduce technical debt and improve delivery.
• Lead the technical delivery of complex mobile features.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and the direction of our mobile platforms.
• Provide technical guidance and support to other engineers.
• Identify technical risks and help the team make pragmatic trade-offs.
