Job summary

Vodacom Midrand is seeking an Analytics Engineer - Mobile to design, build and maintain analytics-ready data products for mobile performance reporting. You will translate data into governed models and reusable metrics to support executive reporting and business decisions.

The role spans data engineering, BI and governance, driving trusted data and faster insights while enabling self-service analytics for analysts and stakeholders. Excellent SQL, dbt and Python skills are required.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of analytics engineering or related data role.
• Proven experience building analytics-ready data models.
• Strong SQL and data transformation skills.

Responsibilities

• Mobile Data Modelling & Transformation: Design, build and maintain robust transformation pipelines and analytics-ready data models for mobile performance reporting.
• Mobile KPI & Semantic Layer Enablement: Translate business definitions into governed measures and semantic models.
• Data Integration & Reconciliation: Combine data from multiple sources and identify data breaks with upstream owners.
• Data Quality, Testing & Observability: Implement tests, validation rules and monitoring for data products.
• Analytics Infrastructure & Performance: Optimise models, queries and refresh patterns for reliability and cost.
• Self-Service Analytics Enablement: Create curated datasets and reusable assets for analysts and business users.
