Job summary

Vodacom is seeking an Analytics Engineer - Mobile to design, build and maintain analytics-ready data products for mobile performance reporting. You will translate business definitions into governed metrics, create semantic models and ensure data quality across dashboards and recurring reports.

The role sits at the intersection of data engineering, BI and performance analytics, driving reliability, governance and scalable insights for executives and analysts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Data Science or related field.
• 3-7 years of relevant analytics engineering / data role experience.
• Proven experience building analytics-ready data models used by business.
• Strong SQL, data transformation, dimensional modelling and warehouse/lakehouse experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain analytics-ready data models and transformation pipelines for mobile performance reporting.
• Translate business definitions into governed metrics and semantic models with clear ownership.
• Integrate data from multiple enterprise sources and reconcile data across systems.
• Implement automated tests, validation rules, anomaly checks and monitoring for data products.
• Optimize data models, queries and refresh patterns for reliability, performance and cost.
• Create curated datasets, reporting views and reusable assets for self-service analytics.
• Support automation of mobile reporting workflows and reduce manual reconciliation.
• Maintain data dictionaries, lineage and metadata to ensure transparency and auditable assets.
• Apply governance, access control and privacy requirements to data products.
• Identify opportunities to improve the analytics stack and engineering processes.
