Job summary

Implats is seeking a Mine Section Supervisor to oversee a portion of the mine workings in accordance with MHSA Regulation 2.15. The role focuses on achieving safety and production targets, executing daily and monthly planning, and coordinating with line management to understand operational needs.

The successful candidate will align Standards and Procedures with Training Material, ensure HSE compliance, manage discipline, and lead a crew through coaching and development.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years’ experience as a Miner
• Knowledge of stoping, development and trackless machinery
• Familiar with safety policies, procedures and MHSA regulations
• Understanding of risk management and operational business objectives
• Valid medical certificate or fitness to obtain it

Responsibilities

• Supervise a section of mine workings in line with MHSA Regulation 2.15
• Achieve daily and monthly safety and production targets
• Perform daily and monthly planning
• Consult with line management to analyse operational needs
• Align Standards and Procedures to Training Material
• Ensure adherence to HSE standards and legal requirements
• Manage discipline and develop the team/crew
• Coordinate, monitor and coach the team to improve performance
