Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Mining Project Manager to lead major development and operational projects in Randburg and surrounding mine sites. This senior role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and hands-on execution to deliver on time, within budget, and to safety and quality standards.

You will oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and design to construction and commissioning, managing diverse teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 10 years of mining project management experience.
• Bachelor degree in mining or related technical field; PMP preferred.
• Strong leadership, budgeting, and contract management proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and closing of complex mining projects; manage scope, schedule, and budget.
• Develop detailed project plans, allocation strategies, and risk frameworks.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams including engineers, geologists, contractors.
• Ensure health, safety, environmental and quality standards throughout execution.
• Serve as primary contact for stakeholders including senior management and regulators.
• Monitor progress and implement corrective actions proactively.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related technical field; PMP or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mining project management, with a proven track record of delivering large-scale projects.
• Strong understanding of mining operations, project finance, and contract management.
• Demonstrated expertise in project planning software and methodologies.
