Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Senior Operations Manager to oversee mining operations in Sandton with a hybrid work arrangement. You will drive safe, efficient, and profitable execution of all mining activities by leading production, maintenance, safety, and environmental compliance.

This role requires 10+ years in mining operations management, strong leadership of large teams, and outstanding strategic planning and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred for senior leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily mine operations: production, maintenance, safety, environmental compliance.
• Develop and implement strategies to meet production targets, cost efficiency, and quality standards.
• Manage and mentor site-based operational teams, fostering safety and accountability.
• Collaborate with engineering, geology, and other departments for integrated mine planning.
• Monitor performance metrics and drive improvements for productivity and profitability.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies.
